In this heightened adrenal state the body overproduces adrenaline, cortisol, and other stress hormones. This eventually causes the adrenal glands to show wear and tear and become depleted. This often then leads to an imbalance in the thyroid gland, which further exacerbates the low energy leading to moods swings, weight gain, and various other symptoms. It’s one of the major reasons so many women have thyroid glands that don’t function efficiently.
